Hey mama, my name is Chelsea.
I’m so glad you’ve found your way here.
I joined Raising Mamas as a second-time mum with a six-week-old in my arms and a five-year-old just starting school. I was stretched thin, overwhelmed, and craving connection. What I found was more than a group—it was a village. A space where I could show up exactly as I was, be seen, and reminded that I was doing a beautiful job.
That experience stayed with me. And now, I have the privilege of leading Raising Mamas—the very community that once held me.
Because motherhood is too big to do alone—and we were never meant to.
I believe in the quiet power of mothers gathering. In shared stories, real connection, and the strength we rediscover when we feel truly supported.
But this story didn’t begin with me.
Raising Mamas was founded by Kailah Cuckson,
a mum who saw how isolating early motherhood could feel—and decided to change that. Her vision was simple but powerful: to create a space where women feel seen, valued, and never alone.
She built something beautiful. A space that blends expert support with genuine connection. A place where women are reminded of their worth—not just as mums, but as themselves.
It’s an honour to carry that vision forward as we grow into new seasons.
What We’re Here For
Raising Mamas exists to support women in the early months of motherhood through small, welcoming groups that offer:
✔ Real connection and lasting friendships
✔ Evidence-based guidance without pressure
✔ A village that holds space for you—not just your baby
What’s Next
Our mothers’ group program will always be the heart of Raising Mamas—but we’re dreaming bigger.
We’re expanding into new locations, offering pregnancy support, and creating short, practical workshops like baby first aid and starting solids.
Our goal? To walk beside you from bump to baby and beyond—with warmth, wisdom, and a whole lot of heart.
Whether you’re a first-time mum, a second-time mum, or somewhere in between—you’re welcome here.
We can’t wait to meet you.
With love,
Chelsea Portors | Owner of Raising Mamas
