Solid Start: Navigating the World of Baby's First Foods

Does introducing solids overwhelm you? Not quite sure where to start? This two hour workshop is for you.

This workshop will cover:

  • Signs of readiness (how to know when your baby is ready)

  • How much to feed your baby

  • Essential nutrients and what foods contain them for early childhood (this will also include plant based sources of these nutrients)

  • Navigating milk feeds (boob/bottle) and starting solids

  • Introducing Allergens (what are the allergens, how to introduce them, signs of an allergy & what to do in cases of suspected allergy)

  • How to safely prepare food for BLW

  • Recipes & Meal ideas when introducing solids (this will include plant based recipes for plant based families!)

  • Navigating picky & fussy eaters

  • Creating a meal routine that works for you & your family

  • Supplements for early childhood (immune function, gut health, cognitive development etc..)

  • Teething support

  • Understanding pre-packaged baby foods

  • The best packaged food brands for your baby (and those to avoid!)

  • Eating utensils, drinking cups and essential storage/cook wear to make your solids journey easier

A little about our host:

Meg is a Masters qualified Clinical Nutritionist (BHSc NutDMed & MHumNut) and currently undertaking her thesis is postpartum depression. She specialises in maternal (particularly postpartum/breastfeeding) and early childhood nutrition.

She has one daughter & a newly arrived son- so has first-hand experience on the importance of nourishing food throughout motherhood. Meg is super excited to pass her knowledge and support to the mamas in this group, so they too can enjoy the life-changing, beautiful journey that is motherhood.
