Raising Kids Safely
At Raising Mamas, our heart has always been to nurture safe, supported families and to create spaces where parents can learn, connect and grow together.
Over time, through countless conversations in our groups, one theme kept resurfacing: how do we truly keep our children safe?
How do we talk about boundaries, teach body safety, and prepare our little ones for a world that doesn’t always feel safe?
Those conversations became the seed for something much bigger — Raising Kids Safely.
This annual community event is our way of turning those heartfelt discussions into preventative education and meaningful action. It brings parents, carers and professionals together to learn from experts, share real stories and leave feeling empowered to protect the children in their care.
Each year, we dedicate this event to raising awareness and vital funds for the Daniel Morcombe Foundation, a charity whose mission deeply aligns with our own. The Foundation’s tireless work in child safety education and prevention has guided families across Australia for more than two decades, and we are so proud to stand alongside them.
Through Raising Kids Safely, we hope to create ripples of awareness, empowerment and change — not just within our own community, but across every family that takes part. Because keeping children safe is something we all share a role in.

Can I bring my baby?
Absolutely. Babies 12 months and under are more than welcome to join you. There will be space to sit comfortably, feed and settle your little one throughout the morning.
We do ask that older children don’t attend on this occasion, as the conversations shared during the event won’t be age-appropriate and the venue doesn’t have the space to safely accommodate active toddlers or little movers.
This helps us keep the space calm, inclusive and focused for everyone attending🤎
Is the venue accessible?
Yes. The Meridan Community Centre is pram-friendly and fully accessible.
Will tickets be refunded if I can’t attend?
Tickets are non-refundable, but you’re welcome to transfer your ticket to another person. Please contact info@raisingmamas.com.au for ticket enquiries.
What is the nature of the content that will be discussed?
This event will include open and informative conversations around child protection, body safety, boundaries and safeguarding, with a focus on empowering parents and carers to keep children safe through everyday awareness and preventative education.
Please be advised that some topics may be sensitive or emotionally challenging, particularly for those with lived experience. While we aim to provide practical tools and guidance, this session is not designed for in-depth personal sharing or therapeutic support.
We understand that some conversations may feel heavy. If at any point you need to step out or take a break, please do so. Your comfort and wellbeing are our priority.
If you feel you may need additional support following the session, we encourage you to reach out to trusted support services such as Lifeline, Beyond Blue or 1800RESPECT.
